2020 INDUCTEES

The selections of the current Gateway Athletic Conference Athletic Directors are:

Brannon "Boo" Champagne - Class of 1983 from Saint Charles High School

Nataliyah Friar - Class of 2013 from Wentzville Holt High School

The GAC Veterans Committee selected the following inductees for 2020:

Don Baldwin - Class of 1982 from Saint Charles West High School - Don was a two year starter at Purdue University and a 4 year letter winner. He started at DE for all 23 games his junior and senior year. He was an All GAC player from 1980-1982. Played in the 1984 Peach Bowl and was on Boilermaker teams that defeated Ohio State, Notre Dame and Michigan in the same year. He played professionally for the NY Jets as DE in 1987. Was a member of the Toronto Argonauts (1988) and the Ottawa Roughriders (1989) of the CFL. An assistant football coach at St. Charles West for 25 years serving in various coaching positions and was a member coach for 6 GAC championships and 6 district titles. He was a 2018 inductee into the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame, Inc. John Kadlec "Assistant Coach" Award.

Stephen Jacob - Coach and Athletic Director at Saint Charles High School - Steve for served as AD at SCHS from 1996 to 2006, hosting many district, sectional and other state events. He served the GAC as the secretary/ treasurer from 1998 to 2006. His coaching included working with softball, volleyball, cheerleading and track and field from 1974 to 1998. He also served as a score/time keeper for football and basketball. He still works football, volleyball and basketball in several capacities. He taught in the St. Charles school district from 1972 to 2006. Worked with the St. Charles Junior Baseball/Softball Association from 1977 - 1995. He is an active member of the MIAAA and the webmaster for the GAC All Conference website from 2006 to present.

Paul James - Class of 1982 from Francis Howell High School - Paul was a 4 year member of the baseball team, three as a starter. He was All Conference and All District his sophomore, junior and senior years. He is 2nd in career wins at Howell and 3rd all-time in strikeouts. He was a 3-year starting quarterback for the Vikings. He was 1st team all-conference at Meramec College in 1983/1984 and the #1 pitcher for Mizzou for the nationally ranked Tigers in 1985. He was drafted five times by MLB. He played for the Sarasota Rangers, Daytona Rangers, Tulsa Drillers, and he was invited to major league Spring Training and the US Olympic team [the same team as Mark McGwire].

Tiffany (Vehige) Albanese - Class of 1996 as a coach and athlete from Wentzville Holt and Wentzville Timberland High Schools - Tiffany was 1st team ALl State Basketball in 1995 and 1995. A three time All GAC 1st team and 1st team All District. She was 3rd team All Metro in 1995 and 2nd team All Metro in 1996. A member of the 1995 Final Four team, she holds records for the most points in a single season, most points in a single game, single season average points, single season shooting percentage, most career points career field goals, career free throws made, free throw percentage, single season shooting percentage, and career assists. She was PD Scholar Athlete, SC Journal Athlete of the Week, St. Luke's Athlete of the Month, U.S. Army National Scholar Athlete, and an All American Nominee. She was a Missouri High School Hall of Fame All Star participant, Governor Carnahan's George Washington Carver Award, Who's Who in Missouri Sports, a Belgium Basketball Tour member, Wentzville Holt Assistant Basketball Coach and the Head Girl's Basketball Coach at Wentzville Timberland S from 2001 -2007. She received a basketball scholarship to Florida Southern College in Lakeland Florida.

Ted Yeater - Class of 1962 from Duchesne High School as Coach and Athletic Director - Ted attended Duchesne form 1958-1962 where he played basketball and baseball. He was a coach, teacher and AD at Duchesne from 1967 - 2007. He served as the head baseball coach and led the 1984 team to the MSHSAA Class 3 State Championship. His 1983 team took 2nd in the MSHSAA Class 3 championships. He was the head basketball coach for the Pioneers from 1973-1994 with 274 wins. He served as an assistant football coach in 1972 and 1973. Ted served as AD from 1979 to 1981. He is a member of the St. Charles County Amateur Sports "Hall of Fame" and was inducted in 2002.
